Lake Volvi is 22 km from the region of Asprovalta. It is in a row with Lake Koronia which is 11,5 km away.

Together the two lakes make up a wetland of international importance under the name “Lake Koronia – Volvi“.

The starting point of your excursions in the Volvi Lake area may be the Wetland Koronia – Volvi Information Centre, in the town of Apollonia. In the Center there is an environmental exhibition about the lake and the species it hosts. Half hour tours can be taken and additional informational material can be provided.

Walking by the lake

Approximately ten minutes to the north, walking beside the picturesque local houses with beautiful gardens, you will find the step of St. Paul.

There is a large flat rock, on which according to tradition was where the Apostle Paul spoke.Above are the spreading branches of the perennial plane tree, which has been declared a Natural Monument.

During the feast of the Saints Peter and Paul (June 29) religious praises and cultural events occur.
